For nearly two years, Paul Scott Silvera and his Scout Design Group have been adding style to homes in San Diego and beyond. At SCOUT @ Quarters D, his retail store located at the historic NTC @ Liberty Station, Silvera has an affinity for vintage objects that evoke classic memories. This holiday season, he is putting his stylish eye to good use for the community.
Through his newly conceived Shiny Brite by Scout program, he is reaching out to community groups to help decorate the homes of the elderly….free of charge. Using their own holiday artifacts, heirlooms and decorations, he will add 10 seniors to his client list, at no charge.
“So many seniors have boxes of long forgotten holiday decorations in their attic or garage just waiting to be given a new life,” Silvera explained. “Seeing the joy people have when their Christmas memories come alive is what the season is all about!” he added.
Silvera has reached out to local community groups to help identify the lucky homeowners that will get a holiday makeover. “We are honored to have such a community-minded individual as one of our NTC Resident groups,” said NTC Foundation Executive Director Alan Ziter. “During the season, and all throughout the year, Scout works to give back and we appreciate that spirit at the NTC Arts and Culture District.”
“Our team of volunteer decorators does the heavy lifting so our clients can sit back and enjoy a lifetime of Christmas memories,” Scout added.
